Sub : CBEC/DGFT Notifications/Circulars on various subjects

Dear Member,

Please find enclosed herewith the following Notifications/Circulars issued by Central Board of Customs and Excise (CBEC) for your information and reference.

• Customs Circular No.3/2008 dated Jan. 24, 2008 regarding importability of restricted goods under various schemes under Chapter 3 of Foreign Trade Policy.

• DGFT Policy Circular No. 28/07 (2004-09) dated 22.1.2008 containing explanatory note to Public Notice No. 99 (RE-2007) dated 8.1.2008 regarding export obligation under EPCG scheme.
• DGFT Notification no. 72 (RE-2007) /2004-2009 dated 22.1.2008 making amendments in paragraph 6.18 (d) of Foreign Trade Policy. This amendment is regarding exit from EOU scheme. The old paragraph 6.18 (d) and the amendments made vide the aforesaid Notification are given below.

An EOU/EHTP/STP/BTP unit may also be permitted by Development Commissioner, to exit on payment of duty on capital goods under the prevailing EPCG scheme as one time option. This will be subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria under that Scheme and standard conditions indicated in HBP V.1	An EOU/EHTP/STP/BTP unit may also be permitted by Development Commissioner, to exit from the scheme at any time on payment of duty on capital goods under the prevailing EPCG scheme for DTA units. This will be subject to fulfillment of positive NFE criteria under EOU scheme, eligibility criteria under EPCG scheme and standard conditions indicated in HBP V.1

 

• DGFT Public Notice no. 102 (RE-2007) dated 16.1.2008 regarding amendments in procedure relating to Deemed Exports.
