Sub:DGFT Policy Circulars
Dear Member,
Please find enclosed
herewith the following policy circulars issued by Director General of Foreign
Trade (DGFT)

Policy circular no. 33 dated March 17,2008 which contains regulations
concerning extension of Export Obligation period for EPCG license holders. As
per this policy circular, the Regional Licensing Authorities (Zonal DGFT
offices) can consider request of firms for extension of block of years for
fulfillment of export obligations (EO), subject to payment of 2% of duty saved
on unfulfilled EO for each block, in respect of licenses upto Rs.50 crores.
This circular also states that extension of EO in respect of all licenses above
Rs.50 crores will be considered by DGFT headquarters.

Policy circular no. 34 dated March 24,2008 regarding issuance of advance
authorizations for readymade garments of textiles and leather. As per this
circular, the Norms Committee (textiles and leather) shall finalize adhoc norms
for readymade garments of textiles and leather, where the requirement of fabric
for a particular pattern/style/design of the garment is more than that
specified in SION.
