Sub: Global Shoes Fair, Düsseldorf, Germany, September 10-12, 2010.

As you are aware, the Global Shoes International Fair is one of the important fairs held in Europe and it is the right forum for meeting prospective buyers from all over Europe. The Council had organized the India Pavilion in this fair for the first time in September 2008 edition and continued till last edition.

THE GERMAN MARKET

India’s export of leather footwear and leather goods to Germany registered positive growth during  2008-09, with export of leather footwear increasing from US $ 176.75  million in 2006-07 to US $ 185.28  million in 2008-09 and export of leather goods increasing from US $ 100.14 million in 2006-07 to US $132.08  million in 2008-09. Germany continued to be the largest importer of leather footwear and leather products, thereby reinforcing its position as a major traditional market for Indian leather sector.

Global Shoes Fair, September 2010 Edition: : With an  objective of sustaining India’s export of leather products especially Footwear to German Market, the Council has planned to continue the participation of Indian Exporters in September 2010 edition of Global Shoes Fair.  This will provide opportunity for volume manufactures and traders through exclusive B2B platform to renew/establish new business contacts with Wholesalers/Distributors/importers of various types of footwear not only in Germany but also in Europe. Hence as in the past the Council will organize Group participation of Indian exporters of Footwear under CLE India Pavilion in the September 2010 edition of the fair.

COST OF PARTICIPATION

The space allocation to each member-exporter in the fair will be in sizes of 12 sq.mtr, 16 sq mts, 20 sq mtrs and 24 sq mtrs.  The approx cost of participation is Rs. 20,000/- per sq.mtrs which include space rent charges, media Lump sum fee , stand construction charges, , Interpreter services and other services like Electricity, cleaning etc.

Accordingly, Adhoc commitment amount of Rs. 2,40,000 is fixed for a booth of 12 sq.mtrs, Rs.3,20,000/- for 16 sq mtrs  Rs.4,00,000/- for a booth of 20 sq mtrs. and Rs.4,80,000/- for 24 sq mtrs booth.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION

Interested member-exporters are requested to send in their Application Form (proforma enclosed) along-with cheque /DD towards adhoc participation charges as per the space requirement mentioned above.  The cheque should be drawn in favour of Council for Leather Exports.  This may be sent to the Council’s Head Office in Chennai or Regional Offices in Delhi, Kanpur, Kolkata, Mumbai and Agra on or before  13th May 2010, enabling the Council to confirm the space requirements for CLE India Pavilion in Global Shoes Fair 

Please also note participants will have to arrange the Visa on their own.  However, CLE will arrange for the invitation letter from the fair organizer to facilitate obtaining of visas to participants. Kindly note that non-issuance of Visa will not be considered as a valid ground for withdrawal subsequent to confirmation of participation. Hence, withdrawal from participation after confirmation will not be allowed.

N.B: Members may kindly note that Council had been regularly organizing participation in GDS & Global Shoes fair for past several years under MDA Scheme.  Hence, the participation in September 2010 Edition is organized on self financing basis, Therefore no assistance to Individual Exporters will be available under MDA Scheme for this Edition.
