Sub : “Performance and Credit Rating Scheme” of National Small Industries Corporation
 
Dear Sir
 
The Council had recently written to National Small Industries Corporation Ltd., (NSIC) seeking details of availability of assistance for availing credit rating facility provided by NSIC. In response, the Council has received a letter from General Manager, Finance, NSIC informing the following.
 

  • NSIC is the nodal agency for implementing “Performance and Credit Rating Scheme” for the Small Scale Industries, on behalf of the Government.  
  • Under this scheme, six rating agencies CARE, CRISIL, FITCH, ICRA, ONICRA and SMERA have been empanelled to carry out the rating of micro and small enterprises. Any micro and small enterprise willing to get rated under the “Performance and Credit Rating Scheme” may submit its application along with necessary documents/information directly to any of the rating agency chosen by it. 
  • The fee to be paid to the rating agency is based on the turnover of the MSEs which has been categorized into three slabs. 
  • The Government subsidises upto 75% of the fee subject to a maximum of Rs.40,000/-  


  NSIC has also sent a statement of rating fee charged by different agencies. The details of the “Performance and Credit Rating Scheme” along with the application form and a statement showing fee charged by rating agencies, as received from NSIC, is enclosed herewith for information of members. The NSIC website www.nsic.co.in contains additional information on credit rating including concession given by NSIC in the rate of interest for units under Performance and Credit Rating Scheme, circulars of concession given by banks for performance and credit rating etc., The said information along with details of other schemes of NSIC are hosted under the heading Schemes, which members may kindly refer.
