Formation of Directorate General of Export Promotion -

Dear Members,
We are pleased to inform the members that the Department of Revenue in the Ministry of Finance and Company Affairs, Government of India has set up the Directorate General of Export Promotion with Head Quarters at New Delhi to provide more focused approach in the area of export promotion and to facilitate higher export in the wake of globalization. The work of Directorate General, Interalia, includes interaction with Export Promotion Councils to resolve difficulties faced by the exporters, to monitor performance of field formations in the matter of payment of Drawback, to conduct post audit of the brand rates fixed by the Directorate of Drawback / field formations and to work in close liaison with export agencies to ensure that the exporters get full advantage of export schemes without difficulties.
The office of Directorate General of Export Promotion has been established and will be operative very soon at the following official address:

Shri Virendra Singh is the founder Director General of the new Directorate
Dr. Sanjay Agarwal is the Additional Director.
Members may please note the above and take full advantage of this new Directorate to resolve the difficulties encountered in their day-to-day export trade and also in availing various export promotion schemes.
Specific issues could be represented to the Directorate General of Export Promotion for necessary redressal. Copies of the same may be sent to Council’s Head Office in Chennai or to respective Regional Offices of the Council in Delhi, Kanpur, Mumbai and Kolkata for follow-up of the matter from the Council.
