Sub: Road Shows to promote
the trade and investment collaborations
ITALY (Nov 5-9-2007) – BRAZIL (Nov 19-22, 2007)
Dear
Member,
We are happy to inform you that the Council proposes to
organize Investment Promotion Programmes (Road Shows) in select potential
countries from
where there is high possibility to attract investments and joint
venture technical collaborations into India. Some of the countries identified for
organizing Road Shows during the current year 2007-08 are Italy,
Brazil, China, Taiwan, Korea, Spain and France.
The basic objective is to explore the
possibility of attracting direct investments from foreign
entrepreneurs, joint ventures/ technical collaborations etc between
Indian companies and entrepreneurs from overseas countries to
manufacture leather & leather products including footwear and
components in India. In other words, Delegation’s Mission will be
to motivate the foreign companies to:
- Establish ‘wholly owned foreign enterprises’ in India i.e., to
encourage direct investments from them to set up their manufacturing
plants in India
- Explore the possibility of foreign companies entering into joint
ventures / technical collaborations with Indian companies to
manufacture leather & leather products including footwear and
components in India
The first in the
series of Road Shows will be held in Italy during Nov 5-9, 2007 and
followed by Brazil during Nov 19-22, 2007.
In this
regard, we attach herewith the tentative programme details and
Registration Form for your perusal.
Members have the option to either attend Road Shows in both
the countries or attend only in anyone country. Please tick
appropriately in the Registration Box against the columns provided.
There is no
participation fee for joining the Road Shows. Delegates have to make
their own arrangements for their air-tickets, accommodation etc.
Travel logistics will be worked out in due course, and the same will
be intimated to members who have given their consent to participate
in the programmes.
We therefore,
request you to let us know your interest to join the Road Show in
Italy and Brazil.
Please submit filled-up Registration Form to the CLE at the
earliest, not later than Sept 28, 2007, so as to tie up the
necessary preparatory arrangements.
