Road Show programme in UK Feb 15-17, 2009

As per the approved Annual Action Plan 2008-09 for undertaking Investment Promotion Activities under the Mission Mode Scheme of Indian Leather Development Programme (ILDP), the Council is organizing a Road Show in UK during Feb 15-17, 2009. The objective of the programme is to create an awareness of the Indian leather industry’s growth potential as well as investment opportunities available in India and explore the possibilities for collaborations between India and U.K. in the leather and leather products sector.

As part of the programme, series of meetings are proposed to be held with various Agencies namely Leather Associations namely British Footwear Association, British Equestrian Trade Association, Moda Trade Fair, SATRA Technology Centre, University of Northampton etc. Moda Footwear and Moda Accessories Fair which will be held in Birmingham will also be visited to meet the UK entrepreneurs with a view to promote collaborations. Indian Missions in U K will also be joining the meetings.

The officials from Consulate General of India, Birmingham, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India, Council for Leather Exports will be meeting the stakeholders, and discussing the strategic directions in which India can partner with United Kingdom in the leather sector.  The Delegation will be in Birmingham on Feb 15 & 16, 2009 and in London on Feb 17, 2009.
