Sub: Visit of Indian Leather Sourcing Delegation to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan
(May 24-27, 2010)
At the outset, we would like to state that Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have been identified as potential markets for sourcing raw hides & skins, semi-processed leather and leather. As per the FAO statistics published for the year 2008, the status of live stock population, production, availability and exports of hides/skins/leather etc. in respect of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan is enclosed herewith as an attachment for your kind information.
In order to make a survey of the existing market situation and to assess the market potential for sourcing raw hides/skins/leather from these two countries, the Council proposes to organize a visit of Indian Leather Sourcing Delegation to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan during May 24-27, 2010
The objective of the Indian Leather Sourcing Delegation would be to have first hand knowledge of the Uzbek and Kazak market, meet local suppliers of hides/skins/leathers so as to make business relationship and to explore possibilities of having joint ventures/technical collaborations with Uzbek and Kazak Tanneries.
The Tentative programme for the Delegation’s visit is enclosed as an attachment for your kind information.
THE TOTAL PARTICIPATION FEE FOR JOINING THE SOURCING DELEGATION IS Rs.20,000/- (NON-REFUNDABLE)
The Council will coordinate the entire programme in association with the Indian Embassy in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan with the active involvement of the Local Tanners Associations in these countries. Besides, the Council will arrange for local Transportation for the Delegation’s visit, Hiring of Venue for holding one-to-one business meetings, transportation for visits to local Tanneries in both the countries etc
However, Members joining the Delegation have to make their own travel arrangements such as air-ticket, Visa, hotel accommodation etc at their own cost. The name of the Hotel, as recommended by the Indian Embassy will be informed to the Member participants so that the entire Delegation can stay in one Hotel for better coordination. Moreover, the Council shall arrange to get Visa Recommendation Letter from the respective Embassy to facilitate obtaining Kazak and Uzbek Visas.
Hence, Members interested to join the Delegation may confirm their participation to the Council by sending their duly filled in company profile in the Format enclosed herewith along with total participation fee of Rs.20,000/-.
We look forward to receiving your confirmation of participation at the earliest so that necessary preparatory arrangements can be made immediately for the Delegation’s visit to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan as scheduled.
