Seminar / Business Meet at Kuala Lumpur on March 18, 2010
The High Commission of India, Kuala Lumpur would be organizing a Seminar / Business Meet on March 18, 2010 at Kuala Lumpur. The objective of the seminar is to promote business collaborations and investment into the Indian Leather Industry.
During the year 2007, the Malaysia’s total import of leather & Leather products including non-leather footwear is US $ 336.83 million. India’s export to Malaysia during 2007-08 was 34.76 million, thus having a share of 10.32% in Malaysia’s total imports. During 2008-09, the India’s export was US $ 39.20 million. Thus, there is good scope for India to increase its share in the Malaysian imports, and therefore, this Seminar would enable the High Commission & Council to highlight the opportunity potential of the Indian Leather Industry. The seminar would comprise of a presentation on the Indian Leather Industry and B2B Meetings.
The High Commission has already held discussions with Malaysian Footwear Manufacturers Association (MFMA) and the Association is willing to support this business Event. The tentative programme schedule of the Seminar / Business Event is given below:

The High Commission is engaging an Event Organizer for undertaking event promotional activities. For the B2B meetings, each Indian company will be given 1 Table, 4 Chairs in which they can display their products. There will not be constructed booths. The Malaysian companies attending the Event will meet the Indian participants on their own choices and their will not be pre-fixed one-to-one meetings. There is no participation fee for this event. The participants have to visit on their own i.e, they have to take care of their own traveling expenses.
The Council would request you to inform your interest to participate in the seminar in Kuala Lumpur as early as possible, Please send your confirmation along with Registration Form preferably on or before 19th Feb 2010.
