Sub:  Revised Export Award Scheme
 
As you may be kindly aware the Council for Leather Exports presents Export Award to Member-exporters for their best export performance in Leather and Leather Products every year during India International Leather Fair, Chennai.  In this regard we would like to inform that Committee of Administration has recently decided about Categorization and criteria of selection for determining Export Awards.  The details are given below:
 
There wii be the following only 4 Turnover slabs for the purpose of selection of Export Awards
 
a)      Upto US$.2 Million
b)      US$.2 Million to US$.5 Million
c)      US$.5 Million to US$.15 Million
d)      Above US$.15 Million
 
The Product Category would be as under:
 
1)   Finished Leather
2)   Leather Footwear
3)   Non Leather Footwear
4)   Footwear Components
5)   Leather Garments
6)   Leather Goods
7)   Industrial Leather Manufactures
8)   Fashion / Sports Gloves
9)   Saddlery / Harness
10)  Non Leather Saddlery & Harness
11)  Footwear Components other than Uppers (Soles Category)
12)  Footwear Components other than Uppers (other than Soles)
 
The Top Level performers in each product category in each slab will be considered for Award.  Accordingly in each Product category the Award will be selected for First Place and Second Place under 4 Turnover slabs mentioned above.
 
Footwear Components other than Uppers:
 
As per the past practice 100% weightage will be given to Export Turnover from Direct Exports and 50% weightage will be given to Export Turnover from Deemed Exports to 100% EOUs with CT3 or without CT3.
 
Brand Promotion Award:
 
It has been decided to continue the Brand Promotion Award as per the existing criteria which is as under:
1)  Brand in question should be in existence for the last three financial years
2)  Should have an export of minimum Rs.5 crore (FOB Value) in the year 2008-09.  However for Harness and Saddlery sector minimum export will be Rs.2 crore only
3)  Should be an International Brand..
 
Based on the above different criteria, the Export Awards for the year 2008-09 will be selected and presented during IILF 2010.  Kindly note that the certified export performance of Member-exporters provided to the Council at the time of Renewal of Membership will form the basis for determination of Export Award for different categories under the aforesaid 4 Turnover slabs..
