                            Sub :Road Show in SPAIN : Jan 17-18, 2008

Dear Member, 

The Council intends to make presentation on Indian Leather Industry to the Spanish entrepreneurs and senior office-bearers of Federation of Spanish Footwear Industries (FICE) and other such Associations in Spain. The presentation will motivate them to invest in India either through FDI or through Joint venture / technical collaborations with Indian companies. 

There will be two presentation meetings, first one in Barcelona on 17th Jan 2008, coinciding with the BREAD AND BUTTER event, which will take place during Jan 16-18, 2008. Second Presentation will be held in Madrid on 18th Jan. These will be dinner meetings. The Chairman of the Council Shri Mukhtarul Amin and the Executive Director would participate in these meetings. An Official from Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India, New Delhi would also participate to explain the attractive FDI policies and Govt. facilitation measures offered to the overseas investors.

As already informed to you, the CLE has appointed a Consultant firm IVC S.A. International Venture Consultants towards enhancing business co-operations and to promote joint ventures, technical collaborations and strategic alliances between India and Spain. The appointment will take effect from 15th Dec 2007. The CLE will be utilizing the services of IVC in organizing this Road Show.

Members desirous of attending the above meetings in Spain may inform their interest to CLE. 

1) Who should attend this Road Show in Spain? - Manufacturer-exporters of leather & various leather products including footwear, who have interest for marketing/business tie-ups and JVs with Spanish entrepreneurs. 

2) What you will get? – You may get an opportunity to meet Spanish entrepreneurs and other stakeholders operating in the Spain leather industry. You may get introduced to them, and business cards exchanged for future contacts. You can also make a visit to BREAD AND BUTTER Fashion Trade Fair in Barcelona. Please note that there will not be any B2B meetings organized for members attending this Road Show. (The CLE Consultant IVC will organize a specific B2B event in Spain during the first half of 2008-09) 

3) Participation Fee and Travel Expenses:No participation fee is payable to the CLE. Members interested of attending the Presentation meetings have to make their own traveling arrangements at their own cost. The traveling logistics will be worked out and informed to interested members in due course.
