Dear Members,
Sub: Revision of All Industry Rates of Duty Drawback for Leather Sandals
We would like to inform our members that the Council had been constantly pleading with the Department of Revenue as well as Department of Commerce for enhancing the All Industry Rates of Duty Drawback for leather sandals as the present rate was not compensating the duty incidence suffered on the inputs used in manufactures of various types of leather sandals.
Several rounds of follow-up meetings were held with senior officials of the Department of Revenue in this regard.
We are now pleased to inform our members that the Department of Revenue has considered the Council’s plea and enhanced the DBK ceiling for leather sandals, under Sub Sr.No.64.06, 64.07, 64.08 and 64.09 in the Drawback Schedule. The relevant extract of Customs Notification No.80/2002-Customs
(N.T.) dated Dec 10, 2002 issued by Department of Revenue in this regard is appended herewith for information and necessary guidance of our member-exporters.
Please note that the said Notification will be effective from Dec 10, 2002.
