Sub : Pending Drawback claims with Mumbai Nhava Sheva Customs Circular No. 2

Dear Member,

We wish to invite your kind attention to our earlier circular of Feb. 15, 2008 (copy enclosed) informing about the Facility Notice No.12/08 received from Nhava Sheva Customs, Mumbai requesting exporters concerned to provide replies to the queries of the Customs on their pending Drawback Claims.

It was also mentioned in the said Facility Notice that exporters should reply to the queries on pending Drawback claims within 60 days of issue of the Facility Notice No.12/08. IN case an exporter is not in a position to submit reply within a period of 60 days, a request has to be made to the Nhava Sheva Customs, Mumbai to keep the Drawback claims pending.

The Council has now received the details of queries concerning pending Drawback claims from the Nhava Sheva Customs. A copy of the file containing the queries is hosted in the Council’s website www.leatherindia.org, in the “Policy” section under the heading “Duty Drawback (DBK)” which members may refer.

Member exporters are requested to kindly go through the queries of Mumbai Customs and exporters concerned are requested to send the reply to their queries along with necessary documents as applicable directly to the Mumbai Nhava Sheva Customs.

Member exporters may kindly note the above and do the needful.
