Footwear Design & Development Institute

FDDI was set up by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India with an objective to train the professional manpower for the industry. In just a span of two decades FDDI has evolved from being India’s premier institute to a notable international training Institute. Footwear Design & Development Institute popularly known as FDDI is rated among the premier design and management institutions in the world. It is widely recognized as a centre of excellence. The institute conducts wide range of professional programmes in the area of Retail Management, Footwear Design, Technology, Management, Fashion Merchandising, Visual Merchandizing, Marketing, Creative Designing & CAD/CAM and Leather Goods & Accessories Design etc. The professional programmes offered are of two to three years duration. All programmes offered by the institute meets the international standards.

Along with the launch of FDDI Campuses across India, FDDI is also introducing a new course M.Sc(Productivity & Quality Manangement) at its Chennai Campus from Academic Session 2012-2013. The aim of the course is to provide plotform for the emerging professionals especially engineering graduates with a high level of professionalism to find niche &  cutting edge  in the sector , keeping in mind the need of the hours of the ever growing, & competitive world The  course provides an integrated overview of  different forms of skills in improving their functions, theoretical background and especially practical applications.

The prospectus for admission to various professional programmes for the Academic Session 2012-13 is available at FDDI Campuses in Noida ,Fursatgunj(Rai Barielly), Chennai, Kolkata, Chinwada, Rhotak, Jodhpur( Jaipur) and can also be obtained from around 100 branches of Axis Bank across India. The cost of the prospectus is Rs 500/-.including the fee for online entrance test slated for 1st , 2nd & 3rd of June 2012. Candidates can send DD of Rs 500/- in favour of FDDI payable at respective centres to procure the prospectus through courier or they can also download it from our website : www.fddiindia.com. The last date for submission of application is 17.05.2012.

Minimum Qualification : Any Degree

UG PROGRAMMES- Duration : 3 years

B. Sc. (Fashion Merchandizing & Retail Management)
B. Sc. (Footwear Technology)

Minimum Qualification: Plus two ( any stream)

Certificate Course:

Footwear Manufacturing Technology – 6 months.

Computer Aided Design ( Shoe design) – 3 months.

FDDI had launched Footwear Manufacturing Technology Course (6 months duration) at their Chennai Centre situated at SIPCOT Industrial Park, Irunkattukottai on 10.05.2010, with candidates sponsored by TAHDCO.

Apart from the sponsorship for candidature by TAHDCO, FDDI Chennai is endeavoring for sponsorship from Tamilnadu Backward class Economic Development Corporation.Limited, Tamilnadu Minority Economic Development Corporation Limited, Tamilnadu Corporation for Development of Women Ltd, in order to join hands with the state government in up-lifting the under privileged & downtrodden.
