Dear Members,
Sub: All Industry Rates of Duty Drawback – Amendments to the DBK Schedule
Your kind attention is invited to the Council’s earlier circulars of even number dated May 3, 2005 and Sept 6, 2005 regarding the All Industry Rates of Duty Drawback notified for leather & leather products including non-leather footwear.
In this regard, we wish to inform you that based on the Council’s representation, the Drawback Directorate has now made certain amendments to the existing DBK schedule for easy availment of DBK by the member-exporters. The amendments are as follows:

Under Chapter 41, the entries for finished leather as well as lining leather of Cow / Buffalo were expanded to include Calf also. Also, entries for finished leather as well as lining leather of Sheep / Goat were changed to Sheep / Lamb (as separate entries already exist for Goat / Kid).

Minor corrections have been made in a few entries under Chapter 42 so as to provide more clarity and to avoid interpretation problems at the field level. Major amendments under this Chapter pertains to (1) expanding the entry for industrial gloves, to include cut resistant gloves, heat resistant gloves, garden gloves, work gloves, welding gloves, water resistant gloves, and driving gloves (2) amending the entry for ‘other covers namely upholstery’ to ‘other upholstery including automobile upholstery’

Under Chapter 64, the entries for chappals were expanded to include slippers also.
A copy of the Notification No.82/2005-Customs (N.T.) dated 26th Sept 2005 issued by the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance in this regard is enclosed herewith for your reference.
Member-exporters may kindly take note of the above and avail the DBK.
