Dear Members,
Sub: Focus Market Scheme
As members are aware in the Annual Supplement to Foreign Trade Policy announced on 7th April
2006, a new scheme called “Focus Market Scheme” was introduced to offset the high freight cost and other disabilities faced in accessing select international markets.
This scheme allows duty credit facility @2.5% of the FOB value of exports of all products to the notified of countries.
The salient features of the ‘Focus Market Scheme’ as notified in the Foreign Trade Policy as well as Handbook of Procedures Vol-I are given in the
Annexure I.
In this regard, the DGFT has now notified list of “Focus Markets” in appendix 37C of the Handbook of Procedures –Vol-I vide DGFT Public Notice NO.
19(RE-2006)/ 2004-09 dated 13.6.2006 which is enclosed at Annexure II.
Member-exporters are requested to kindly note the above and also go through the salient features of Focus Market Scheme and avail the facility accordingly.
Also please note that an exporter can avail either “Focus Product Scheme” or “Focus Market Scheme” and cannot avail both the schemes.
