Members of the Council,
Dear Sir(s),
We invite your kind attention to Council’s circulars of even number dated June
12 & June 19, 2006 giving the details of newly announced the Focus Product
Scheme and Focus Market Scheme notified in the Annual Supplement of Foreign
Trade Policy 2006-07.
In this regard, we wish to inform you that the following Customs Notifications
to operationalize Focus Products Scheme and Focus Market Scheme have been issued
recently by Department of Revenue.
1. Custom Notification No.91/2006-Customs dated 01.09.2006 regarding Focus
Product Scheme
2. Custom Notification No. 90/2006-Customs dated 01.09.2006 regarding Focus
Market Scheme
These Notifications have been hosted in the Council’s website
www.leatherindia.org under Policy Section.
These are also available in website of Central Board of Excise & Customs www.cbec.gov.in
under Custom column.
Member-exporters may kindly peruse these notifications and accordingly avail the
Focus Product Scheme and Focus Market Scheme, as the case may be in respect of
exports made from 1st April 2006
As informed earlier, the half yearly application in respect of exports made from
1st April 2006 to 30th March 2007 can be submitted after 1st October 2006 to
concerned licensing authority i.e. JDGFT Office.
Member-exporters are requested to kindly note the above and also go through the
salient features of Focus Product and Focus Market Scheme and avail the benefits
accordingly.
Also please note that an exporter can avail either “Focus Product Scheme” or
“Focus Market Scheme” and cannot avail both the schemes.
