Dear Members,
Sub: Filing of imports / exports returns to the DGFT
Your attention is invited to Council’s circular No.14/005/106/2003 dated April 1, 2003 in which the highlights of the annual Exim Policy for the year 2003-04 was disseminated to the member-exporters. The said circular was also hosted in CLE website
www.leatherindia.org. As mentioned in the highlights of the policy, Import / Export Code Number holders are required to furnish online return of imports and exports made on yearly basis, and for specific information in all the matters concerning policy provisions and procedures, the Council called upon the members to browse the DGFT website
www.dgft.delhi.nic.in
In regard to filing of Import / Export returns, Para 2.9.5 of the Handbook of Procedures Part II states as under:
2.9.5 Mandatory returns
"Each IEC holder shall be required to furnish yearly details of imports/ exports made by him in the preceding licensing year by 30th June. The information shall be furnished online by the IEC holder by accessing the website at
www.nic.in/eximpol. Failure to submit the details by the stipulated period shall result in blocking of such IEC for import / export purposes from 1st
July".
In cases where the IEC holder has not made any import / export in the preceding licensing year, such IEC shall be made inoperative from 1st of July.
As per the guidelines provided by the DGFT to all IEC holders in its website, furnishing of valid and active e-mail ID is mandatory, without which no online returns will be accepted. It was also stated in the DGFT website that failure to submit the returns by June 30 shall result in deactivation of IEC for import and export purposes.
Therefore, member-exporters may furnish the imports / exports returns to the DGFT through DGFT website
www.nic.in/eximpol within the stipulated timeframe.
