Sub: Exim Policy Amendments –reg
As you are aware, a series of trade facilitation measures were announced by DGFT on Jan 28, 2004 primarily to bring down the transaction costs, with a view to provide an impetus to International trade, accelerate incremental growth rate of Indian exports and enable India to emerge as a manufacturing hub for quality goods and services. Towards this direction, Export-Import Policy & Procedures 2002-07 has been amended, and some of the important highlights of such amendments are as under:

Further simplification in the EPCG scheme, with more flexibility given to discharge the export obligations under the scheme

Duty free fuel permitted with actual user condition under DFRC scheme, with the objective to bring down the power cost to the exporters

Filing of license and other applications using digital signature facility

Upto 5 lakhs worth of free gifts can be exported
-
Gold card scheme for credit worthy exporters with good track record for easy availability of export finance on best term being worked out by RBI.
