Dear Members,
Sub: Extension of date for filing of annual trade returns to DGFT
We invite attention of our members to the Council’s circulars dated May 23, 2003 and October 29, 2003 regarding online filing of import/export returns to DGFT in terms of Para 2.9.5 of the Hand Book of
Procedures-Vol The relevant Public Notices issued by DGFT in this regard from time to time were also appended with our circulars, providing guidelines for online filing of annual trade returns, which is mandatory for all IEC holders. The last date for filing of returns was Dec 31, 2003.
We have now received communication from office of the Director General of Foreign Trade, New Delhi, informing that on demand from exporting community
the date for online filing of the annual trade return to DGFT has been extended upto March 31, 2004 and the relevant procedure and guidelines have been put on the DGFT website
http://www.dgft.nic.in.
Member-exporters who have not filed their annual trade returns to DGFT so far may do so immediately but before March 31, 2004 by browsing the IEC Trade Return system available on the site
http://www.nic.in/eximpol.
Please note that as per the DGFT communication, there may not be any further extension for filing of trade returns. Non-filing within stipulated date may result in de-activation of IEC for import / export purposes.
