Dear Members,
Sub: New DEPB Rates
We wish to inform you that the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has
issued a Public Notice No.12 (RE-2005)/2004-09 dated May 26, 2005 under which
revised DEPB rates for various items including leather & leather products
and non-leather footwear have been notified.
A copy of the said Public Notice alongwith a statement showing the new DEPB
rates under Product Code 64 in the schedule of DEPB rates, is enclosed herewith
for your ready reference.
It may please be noted that there is an overall reduction of 1%-2% in the DEPB
rates which is consequent to the general lowering of peak rate of Basic Customs
Duty from 20% to 15% in the Union Budget 2005-06 announced on Feb 28, 2005.
The new DEPB rates will take effect from the date of the Public Notice i.e., May
26, 2005.
