Sub: Road Show - B2B Meetings at SPAIN: Nov 10-13, 2009
As you are aware, during the previous year 2008-09, the Council has organized two Road Show- B2B Meetings Events in Spain, to provide a platform for the Indian and Spanish companies to enhance collaborations in the leather & leather products segments. The Events were coordinated by the then CLE consultant in Spain i.e., International Venture Consultants (IVC)*. This agency successfully organized the two Events which resulted in good turnout of Spanish companies in the B2B meetings with Indian companies. While 16 member-exporters participated in May 2008 Event, 8 members took part in Nov 2008 Event. Indian participants have given their positive feedback to the Council. *Tenure of the IVC as CLE Consultant in Spain ended on 14 Dec 2008.
At present, Spain holds 6th rank in India’s export from the leather sector. Therefore for India, Spain continues to be one of the important and potential markets for enhancing the business opportunities and attracting joint venture and technical collaborations into the leather & leather products industry. As such, as part of the Annual Action Plan for 2009-10 under the Mission Mode Scheme of the ILDP, the Council will be organizing a Road Show in Spain during Nov 10-13, 2009. The Road Show will be in the form of Presentation-cum-Interaction session in which India will be presented as an attractive destination for business and joint venture collaborations. The opportunities available to the Spanish companies in Indian Leather Industry will be highlighted during these sessions.
In this regard, the Council has received a proposal from the IVC–Spain to organize Road Show Event and also Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings between Spanish and Indian companies. IVC proposed this activity to the Council based on their experience of working for the Indian leather industry during 2008 under Consultant project. The Road Show + B2B meetings will be held in Barcelona, Madrid and Elche (Alicante). As per the previous year’s model, the B2B meetings will be held in each of these three places, immediately after the Presentation-cum-Interaction session. The programme schedule is given below:

WHO SHOULD ATTEND ROAD SHOW– B2B MEETINGS IN SPAIN?
Members of leather & leather products industry including non-leather footwear and footwear components, which have interest for marketing / business tie-ups and entering into joint venture/ technical collaborations with Spanish entrepreneurs.
WHAT YOU WILL GET?
You will get an opportunity to meet Spanish entrepreneurs and other stakeholders operating in the Spanish leather industry. Over B2B meetings, you will get introduced to them, and business cards exchanged for future contacts. You may bring a few important product samples and your company Brochure, which will be useful for you to interact with Spanish companies.
PARTICIPATION FEE
The professional fees of the IVC as marketing agency and a part of the Event organizational expenses at 3 places i.e, Barcelona, Madrid and Elche (Alicante) will have to be met from the participation fee to be collected from participants. Thus, members joining this event have to a remit a consolidated amount of Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One lakh only) per company as Participation Fee. This fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. This is basically due to the reason the Council will be engaging the IVC only based on the confirmation of participation and receipt of fee from the participants. Therefore, members are advised to take a firm decision at once on their participation. The fee once paid will not be refunded.
TRAVEL EXPENSES
Members joining the event have to make their own traveling arrangements such as air fare, accommodation, hospitality, local transport etc at their own cost.
Members desirous of participating in the Road Show- B2B meeting Event in Spain during Nov 10-13, 2009 may kindly confirm their participation by:
a) Submitting the filled-in Registration Form (attached herewith)
b) Remitting Rs.1,00,000/- either by Cheque or Demand Draft in favour of ‘Council for Leather Exports’.
We request you to kindly send your response so as to reach us on or before May 26th 2009. This would enable the Council to accordingly consider engaging the IVC, Spain as marketing agency for this project.
